The Doors – L.A. Woman
The Doors were an American rock and roll band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1965. Band members included vocalist Jim Morrison, guitarist Robby Krieger, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, and drummer John Densmore.
The band name “The Doors” originated from the book The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley in which itself was a reference to a William Blake quote: “If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.”
The Doors were one of the most controversial rock bands of the 60s due to Jim Morrison’s wild poetic lyrics and persona. In 1971 just a few years after the bands growth in popularity and fame Jim died at the age of 27 from a heroin overdose.
In 1970 LA Woman was heard around the country as The Doors toured and in 1971 the album was officially released. A pretty interested fact of this song is that the lyrics “Mr Mojo Risin” is actual Jim Morrison rearranged.
The song L.A. Woman makes you just wanna jump into your car and hit the streets of Los Angeles. From the city lights of downtown to the hills of Hollywood, L.A. is sure to bring adventure your way. Dude, you can even bring your pipe and some good ass weed along for the ride. Pack a bowl while you roam the wonderful city of Los Angeles, I know I do. Just make sure you have your medical card on you or make sure not to get pulled over by L.A.P.D. because they love to give us stoners are hard time.
Plus for all us stoners, there are tons of medicinal marijuana dispensary’s and head shops with some really great pieces! I love how this original Doors video is fully packed with very aspect of Los Angeles. Lets all remember there is no other woman like a LA woman!
