Stoner Dictionary | Gravity Bong
Gravity Bong: noun 1. a homemade marijuana smoking apparatus traditionally made with a 2 liter plastic bottle, a bucket of water, and aluminum foil
Example: “The first time I made a gravity bong was in the 9th grade.”
The blueprints of this invention should be ingrained in every stoner’s head. Its simple design makes it perfect for achieving quality hits, with only a small amount of weed. The gravity bong is king of homemade bongs. All you need is a plastic bottle, preferably 2 liter, a bucket of water or any reservoir of water bigger than your bottle, and some aluminum foil.
-
First you cut a medium sized hole into the top of a cap from a 2 liter bottle
-
Then you place a piece of aluminum foil in the hole, be careful not to rip the foil.
-
Poke holes in the foil to allow the smoke into the bottle. Your holes shouldn’t be big enough for your bud to fall through, and there needs to be enough holes to let the smoke freely travel into the bottle, this acts as your bowl.
-
Cut the 2 liter bottle a little less than halfway to make sure that you have enough room for the smoke
-
Take a bucket of water or just the tub or kitchen sink and fill it with water.
-
Fill your aluminum foil bowl with the tree of your choice, submerge the cut bottle into the water and then screw the lid on. Screwing the lid on (the bowl) beforehand will result in all your bud flying out.
-
Light the marijuana while simultaneously slowly pulling up on the bottle.
-
Once the bottle is filled with smoke, unscrew the top and inhale all of that beautiful smoke.
This method can get you pretty high pretty fast because of the smoke being trapped inside the bottle leaving very little room for any to escape so it goes all to you.
It gets its name from the technique of using the water to draw smoke into the bottle (gravity). It’s every bit of amazing as it sounds and hopefully you’re got an extra 2 liter and some foil not too far from reach.
